Rapid City Rush Hockey
Rapid City’s premier sports team, and South Dakota’s only professional hockey team, the Rapid City Rush has been proudly based at The Monument since 2008. Now entering its 17th season in the Black Hills, the Rush offers a thrilling blend of future National Hockey League talent, intense action, and affordable family entertainment.
The Rush hosts 36 home games at The Monument from October to April during the regular season, drawing over 100,000 hockey fans each year. The season features popular theme nights such as Military Appreciation Night, First Responders Night, and Rush Fights Cancer Night, which has raised over $300,000 for the Monument Health Foundation.
In just its second season, the Rush clinched the 2010 Ray Miron President’s Cup as champions of the Central Hockey League. Since 2014, the team has been part of the ECHL, North America’s premier 'AA' hockey league. To date, seven Rush alumni have advanced to the NHL, including Stanley Cup-winning goaltender Adin Hill.
